Privacy Policy
Effective August 8, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Fridge Buddy, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Fridge Buddy," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the Fridge Buddy mobile application (the "App") and the website located at getfridgebuddy.com (the "Site," and together with the App, the "Services"). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information in connection with the Services:
- Account information. When you register for the App, we collect your email address, which is used to authenticate your access by means of a one-time code and to administer your access and membership.
- Images you submit. When you elect to use the App's image-recognition features, images you capture or select, such as images of groceries or receipts, are transmitted to our image-recognition service, which uses a third-party provider to identify the items depicted. Images are processed for the purpose of identification and are not retained by us following processing. Where you use the manual entry feature, only the text you enter is transmitted.
- Survey and feedback information. We collect responses you provide to onboarding surveys and communications you submit through in-app feedback mechanisms, which are stored in association with your account.
- Usage information. We collect information about your use of the App, including features accessed, actions taken and their outcomes, the types of food items added or used, and diagnostic and error information, in association with your account.
- Recipe queries. To provide recipe and meal suggestions, the App transmits the names of items in your inventory to our servers for the purpose of generating results.
- Waitlist and Site information. If you join our waitlist, whether through the Site or the App, we collect the email address you provide. Our servers additionally maintain limited technical logs for security, abuse-prevention, and troubleshooting purposes.
Your inventory of food items, associated purchase and expiration dates, and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side copy of your inventory.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to provide, maintain, and improve the Services; to authenticate access and administer accounts and memberships; to respond to inquiries and provide support; to monitor the performance and reliability of the Services and diagnose technical issues; to communicate with you regarding the Services, including waitlist and product announcements; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not collect precise location information.
4. How we share information
We disclose information to service providers that process information on our behalf in connection with the operation of the Services, including cloud hosting, image recognition, email delivery, and analytics providers, in each case subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information. We do not sell personal information that identifies you.
We may create de-identified or aggregated information from the data described in this policy by removing information that could reasonably be used to identify you, and may use and disclose such information for any lawful business purpose, including research, publications, industry reports, and commercial arrangements. We maintain de-identified information without attempting to re-identify it.
5. Data retention
We retain information collected through the Services for as long as your account is active or as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
6. Deletion and your choices
Deleting the App removes the information stored locally on your device. To request deletion of your account and associated information held on our servers, contact hello@getfridgebuddy.com from the email address associated with your account. To be removed from the waitlist, contact us at the same address or use the unsubscribe mechanism included in our communications.
7. Children's privacy
The Services are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact hello@getfridgebuddy.com and we will delete it.
8. Location of processing
The Services are operated from the United States. Information collected through the Services is processed and stored in the United States, and by using the Services you acknowledge that your information will be processed there.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page, revise the effective date above, and provide notice through the App as appropriate.
